An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and organised Work Placement & Experience Officer to join a leading education and training provider. The RoleReporting to the Curriculum and Employer Engagement teams, the Work Placement & Experience Officer will be responsible for developing employer partnerships and coordinating work placement opportunities for students studying construction-related programmes.This is a varied role that combines relationship management, administration, compliance and student support. You will work closely with employers, curriculum teams and students to ensure placements are safe, relevant and deliver a positive experience for everyone involved.
Key ResponsibilitiesSourcing work experience, industry placements and work-based learning opportunitiesBuilding relationships with construction employers and industry stakeholdersCoordinating employer engagement activities, including careers talks, masterclasses and interview preparation sessionsEnsuring all placements meet safeguarding, health and safety and compliance requirementsCarrying out employer reviews and placement monitoring activitiesSupporting students to prepare for placements and ensuring all documentation is completedMaintaining accurate placement records and updating CRM systemsWorking closely with curriculum teams to identify suitable placement opportunitiesResponding to enquiries from employers, students, parents and colleaguesProviding feedback to curriculum staff on placement outcomes and employer engagement activitiesAssisting with audits, inspections and quality assurance requirementsIdentifying opportunities to further strengthen employer partnerships
The successful Work Placement & Experience Officer will be passionate about supporting students while developing strong relationships with local businesses and industry partners.RequirementsWe are looking for an organised and professional individual with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the construction industry.
To be successful, you will have:Experience working within or alongside the construction sectorExperience engaging and building relationships with employers and external stakeholdersA proactive approach with the ability to achieve positive outcomesKnowledge of workplace health and safety requirementsStrong organisational and administrative skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesThe ability to build rapport quickly with students, employers and colleaguesExperience maintaining accurate records and managing information effectivelyGCSE Maths and English at Grade C/Level 4 or equivalentA full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites as requiredThis would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has been a Work Placement Coordinator, Employer Engagement Officer, Careers Adviser, Apprenticeship Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Recruitment Consultant or Employability Adviser within an education, training, construction or skills-based environment.
