Due to the growing demandfor sustainable energy solutions, we are looking to expand our Team and are seeking Commercial Lawyer to provide specialist in-house legal advice withinthe Energy Infrastructure Services area of the business. You will reportinto one of the Senior Legal Counsels primarily providing support to theirrespective business area but all members of the Team have the opportunity tosupport and collaborate across all company activities.
The role will also include working with
- CommercialLawyer for Energy Infrastructure Solutions-Supporting Utility heatnetwork and generation business:responsible for providing advice on allaspects of development, sales, construction and operation of new and existingenergy infrastructure projects such as the biomass combined heat and powerplant UK’s largest low carbon heating and cooling systems.
- Commercialleads to help develop innovative decarbonisation strategies and advise on any changes required to template and existing contracts as a result of upcomingregulation and decarbonisation of the UK heat market.
- Draftingand negotiating a full spectrum of commercial contracts including heatnetworkcontracts such as ESCO, waste heat off-take and private wireagreements.
- B2BSolutions Role – Supporting energy solutions business: providing day to dayassistance on all aspects of development, sale, procurement, constructionand operation of energy solutions projects (including on site and off site PVsolar, wind and heat pumps) for industrial and commercial, and public sectorcustomers.
Requirements
- UKqualified solicitor or barrister
- experienceadvising on complexcommercial agreements.
- businessacumen with a practical, commercial approach to problem solving
- workindependently and pro-actively but are also a reliable team player
- workapproach with flexibility to work to tight timescales in a fast-pacedenvironment
- greatinterpersonal skills with the ability to deal confidently and build strong andtrusting relationships with business colleagues
- excellentEnglish written and verbal communication skills.
Idealnot essential Experience of the energy industry or working in a regulatedenvironment also Experience of working in-house.
