Band 3 Theatre Healthcare Assistant
We have vacancies within Trauma & Orthopaedic Theatres and also General Theatres.
PLEASE NOTE: We cannot offer visa/sponsorship for this job role.
- Assists in preparing Theatres each morning and in the cleaning and preparation of the Theatres and assisting the scrub team in between cases.
- Answer the telephone or external visitor/contractor questions, and assist them with their enquiries in a polite and professional manner ensuring a positive impression of the organisation and self.
- Gains knowledge and understanding of the range of implants used and for which case and their location with the importance of safe implants checks.
- Participates in the bagging and packing of used instrumentation for dispatch to Steris Healthcare while adhering to Infection Control standards.
- Ensures that all Theatre equipment used for patient care is cleaned and stored appropriately and available for each case.
- Ensures clinical waste, non-clinical waste and sharps bins are secured, and disposed of in accordance with trust policy.
- Participates in the cleaning, stocking up and other non-clinical duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the list.
- Participates in moving and handling of patients in a manner which is safe for both the patient, colleagues and the post holder in accordance to Trust Manual Handling Policy and patients’ individual risk assessments.
- Ensures own practices adhere to Trust infection control policies and procedures at all times e.g. Bare below the elbows, Hand Hygiene.
