Ofsted Registered Manager – Dual-Registered Children’s Residential Services

AA Euro Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a growing children’s residential care provider seeking an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to oversee two specialist children’s residential services in Hertfordshire.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for a 4-bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children’s home in Hoddesdon and a 1-bed solo placement service in Broxbourne. The services are being developed to provide high-quality, individualised care and support for children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager who is looking to take on a dual-registered position and play a key role in developing and maintaining high standards across two specialist services.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Ofsted Registered Manager with overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the services.
- Successfully manage and maintain registration across both children’s residential provisions.
- Lead and manage the staff teams, ensuring safe, effective and child-centred care.
- Ensure full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards.
- Maintain strong safeguarding practices and ensure the welfare and safety of children remain the highest priority.
- Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
- Monitor children’s progress, outcomes and placement plans, ensuring care is personalised to individual needs.
- Lead recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and ongoing development of staff.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas and resources effectively across both services.
- Work closely with the Responsible Individual and senior leadership team to maintain strong governance and quality assurance.
- Prepare the services for Ofsted inspections and respond effectively to any recommendations or requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all regulatory and organisational documentation is up to date.
- Drive continuous improvement and promote a positive culture within the homes.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager within children’s residential care.
- Proven experience managing an Ofsted-registered children’s home.
- Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards.
- Experience working with children and young people with EBD, complex needs or challenging behaviours.
- Strong safeguarding and risk management knowledge.
- Proven leadership and staff management experience.
- Experience managing inspections, compliance and quality assurance.
- A relevant Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
- Full UK driving licence desirable.
