The Role
As a member of our multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will play a vital role in promoting recovery and maintaining the safety, privacy, and dignity of our patients. You will work directly with patients, their families, and carers to deliver person-centred care that respects individual cultural and spiritual beliefs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist in the delivery of care as directed by the Nurse in Charge.
- Supportive Environment: Promote a culture of recovery and well-being through compassionate interaction.
- Documentation: Maintain high standards of confidentiality and accurate record-keeping.
- MDT Collaboration: Work effectively alongside nurses, doctors, and specialists to ensure integrated patient care.
- Clinical Tasks: Opportunities to develop skills in ECG and venepuncture (desirable).
Entry Routes & Qualifications
For Healthcare Assistant (Band 3)
- Must hold a Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 (or equivalent).
- Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 (or equivalent).
- Previous experience as a Band 2/3 HCA in a care environment.
For Trainee Applicants
- No previous experience required.
- Must be willing to enrol on the Healthcare Assistant Framework.
- Completion of Level 2 Diploma and Literacy/Numeracy qualifications is required within 2 years of appointment.
