Insight Global are seeking a Sanctions Compliance Program Manager for a leading global professional membership and standards organisation.

This position requires fully remote working in the UK for a 6-month contract (Inside-IR35).

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive review of an existing sanctions compliance programme, identifying gaps and enhancement opportunities, implementing improvements, and supporting day-to-day sanctions operations during a period of transition. This role will work closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to strengthen sanctions controls, governance, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a detailed assessment of the organisation’s sanctions compliance programme and control environment.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for enhancement across sanctions governance, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans to strengthen sanctions compliance controls and risk management practices.
  • Review and improve sanctions screening, monitoring, investigation, and escalation processes.
  • Provide guidance on sanctions licensing requirements, exemptions, and regulatory obligations.
  • Manage daily sanctions compliance activities, including third-party and customer screening oversight, alert investigations, risk assessments, and regulatory documentation.
  • Support business stakeholders with sanctions-related advisory and compliance guidance.
  • Develop and update policies, procedures, governance documentation, and training materials.
  • Establish sustainable reporting, controls, and operating procedures for long-term programme management.
  • Support knowledge transfer activities and the transition to a future permanent hire.

Must-Have Requirements Include:

  • Extensive experience managing sanctions compliance programmes within complex organisations.
  • Strong experience assessing and enhancing existing sanctions frameworks, policies, procedures, governance structures, and controls.
  • Hands-on experience overseeing day-to-day sanctions operations, including screening, investigations, escalations, and regulatory advisory support.
  • Deep knowledge of international sanctions regimes, including U.S., UK, and EU sanctions requirements.
  • Experience identifying compliance gaps and implementing remediation plans to address regulatory risks.
  • Expertise in sanctions screening, monitoring, escalation, and investigation processes.
  • Strong understanding of sanctions licensing, exemptions, and regulatory interpretation.
  • Ability to partner effectively with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Operational stakeholders.
