Senior Data Scientist

Hybrid working, with offices across the South East and East Midlands | Up to £75,000 + Bonus

The Role

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be part of a specialist team focused on insurance pricing, predictive modelling and the development of innovative data products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and deploying machine learning models to support pricing and risk decisions
  • Building new rating factors and predictive features from large, complex datasets
  • Exploring alternative data sources to improve pricing sophistication and commercial performance
  • Delivering claims, customer and risk analytics that influence business strategy
  • Working closely with stakeholders across analytics, pricing and technology functions
  • Supporting model monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to technical best practice
  • Identifying opportunities to apply emerging machine learning techniques to commercial challenges

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or Pricing Analytics
  • Experience working within insurance, or exposure to pricing, risk or customer analytics in a highly regulated environment
  • Advanced Python and SQL skills
  • Experience building predictive models from development through to deployment
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as XGBoost, CatBoost or similar approaches
  • Ability to work with large, complex and messy datasets
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience supporting or mentoring more junior colleagues
