Pipefitter / WelderWest Manchester (Irlam/Carrington)35,000 Basic + Overtime (OTE 50,000+) + Annual Bonus
Our client, a well-established engineering business based in the West Manchester area, are looking to recruit a Pipefitter/Welder to join their close-knit engineering team on a permanent basis.
Working alongside another Pipefitter and within a team of six engineers, you’ll carry out a mixture of pipefitting, fabrication and welding work, while also supporting the maintenance team with planned maintenance, breakdowns and site improvement projects.
This is a varied, hands-on role with plenty of overtime available, allowing most engineers to earn around 50,000 per year.
What’s on Offer:
* 35,000 basic salary* Typical earnings around 50,000 with overtime* Annual company bonus (subject to company performance)* Overtime paid at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and 2x on Sundays* Additional payments for confined space work* Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm* Regular overtime available before and after shifts (many engineers work approximately 7:00am – 5:00pm) and Saturday mornings* Full training provided for FLT, Confined Space and Cherry Picker licences where required
The Role:
* Pipefitting, fabrication and installation work* Welding using MIG and Stick (MMA)* Working on predominantly 2″-4″ pipework* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings* Supporting the maintenance team with repairs and planned maintenance* Assisting with plant and equipment improvement projects
About You:
* Time-served Mechanical Engineer or Pipefitter with a recognised apprenticeship or engineering qualification* Experience of pipefitting and fabrication* Competent MIG and Stick (MMA) welder* Able to read engineering drawings* A team player with a flexible approach to supporting the wider engineering function
