Are you an experienced Pre-Contracts Manager, Senior Bid Manager or Pre-Construction Manager looking to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major rail, civil engineering and energy projects across Scotland?
We’re recruiting for an exciting leadership opportunity with a well-established contractor.
This is a key role leading the work-winning function across the Scotland region, overseeing high-quality bid submissions, developing winning strategies and managing a multidisciplinary pre-contract team.
The Role
As Pre-Contracts Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing future work by leading the full pre-contract process from opportunity identification through to tender submission.
Working closely with senior leadership, commercial teams and operational stakeholders, you’ll ensure bids are commercially competitive, technically robust and aligned with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all pre-contract and bid management activities across the Scotland region.
Manage Expressions of Interest (EOIs), PQQs and tender submissions.
Develop winning bid strategies for major infrastructure opportunities.
Coordinate technical, commercial and operational input into submissions.
Manage bid programmes, resources and workloads.
Build and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
Work closely with senior stakeholders to identify and secure new opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement across bid processes and lessons learned.
About You
We’re keen to hear from candidates who have:
Experience in Pre-Contracts, Bid Management or Pre-Construction within infrastructure.
Strong leadership and people management experience.
Excellent commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
The ability to manage multiple complex bids simultaneously.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience within rail, civil engineering or multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Desirable:
Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
HNC, HND or Degree qualification (or equivalent industry experience).
