Senior Highways Engineer

Our client, a prominent player in the highways sector, is seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join their dynamic team. This permanent position offers a fantastic opportunity to be involved in high-profile infrastructure projects, including renewable energy developments, 278 highways, and active travel projects from concept through to detailed design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage highway engineering projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement innovative design solutions
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and drawings
• Provide expert advice on highways design standards and best practices
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met
• Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates within the team
• Contribute to business development through technical input and client relationship management
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes

Job Requirements:

• Substantial experience in highways engineering and infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of engineering design principles and relevant software
• Proficiency in project management and delivery
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
• Experience working on developer work, local authority work, and capital projects
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
