Facilities Supervisor – Harrow Crown Court

Permanent, full‑time (40 hours per week) position located at Harrow Crown Court, HA1 4TU. Salary range: £30,000 – £33,500 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00. Some flexibility required for early starts, evenings, weekends, and regional coverage.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the area facilities manager, you will lead cleaning teams on the HMCTS site, maintaining the highest standard of hygiene, health and safety while presenting a professional manner to staff and the public.

  • Supervise cleaning teams to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and customer service across a large‑scale government contract.
  • Motivate and manage teams to achieve consistent specified standards of cleaning.
  • Drive teams to effectively work across multiple locations and remote sites.
  • Plan and prioritise workload with limited supervision.
  • Maintain and enforce health and safety principles and protocols.
  • Provide customer service and communication with staff, the public and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in industry or public cleaning services (essential).
  • Previous experience supervising a cleaning team at multiple locations (essential).
  • Understand basic health and safety principles.
  • Experience motivating teams to attain specified cleaning standards.
  • Experience leading remote teams effectively.
  • Good communication and customer care skills.
  • Team player with proactive problem‑solving approach.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload autonomously.
  • Basic knowledge of IT and Microsoft Office.
  • CosHH knowledge (desirable).

BPSS Requirements

Must undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checking, including a DBS clearance.

  • Identity Verification: Passport, photo ID, birth certificate, etc.
  • Employment history (past 3 years); gaps require HMRC statements.
  • Right to work in the UK: Citizenship or valid share code.
  • Unspent criminal record disclosure.
  • Significant periods abroad: any 6+ months spent abroad in the past 3 years.
