Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We’re looking for a passionate and dedicatedResidential Support Workerto join our clients brand-new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home inHinckley, Leicestershire. This is a full-time, permanent position with a guarentee of 160 hour per month. You must also be able to commit to one sleep in shift per week.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be an essential part of a small, supportive team. This new home provides short-term placements for up to three children and young people (ages 8-18) to help understand their needs. Your main goal will be to build trusting, nurturing relationships that promote their independence, confidence, and emotional skills.
In this role, you will:
- Develop nurturing relationshipswith young people, focusing on their well-being and strengths.
- Work closely with families and other professionalsto provide a holistic support system.
- Contribute to the daily running of the home, including cooking and cleaning, to create a safe and welcoming environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date recordsand ensure all safeguarding policies are followed.
- Be a positive and reliable presence, promoting a safe and secure space at all times.
While Hinckley will be your main base, you’ll need to be flexible to cover shifts at other local homes in Coalville, Mountsorrel, Braunstone, and Syston as needed.
What We’re Looking For
To be a great fit for this role, you should have:
- TheLevel 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or be committed to achieving it within a set timeframe.
- A strong motivation tomake a positive impacton young people’s lives and build their resilience.
- A solid understanding ofsafeguarding proceduresfor vulnerable children and young people.
- Theflexibility to work shifts, weekends, bank holidays, and commit to sleep-ins.
- Relevant experience is a plus, but not essential. We value theright attitude and a willingness to learnabove all else.
