Tetra Tech is looking for a Business Support Executive who can keep technical teams moving and make a visible impact across a UK-wide business.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

The Business Support Executive will play a key role in supporting technical teams located across various UK locations and working closely with the Business Support Manager (Administration) to deliver responsive, high-quality administrative support. Based in Brighton, the role will coordinate day-to-day business support activities, help maintain efficient processes, and ensure colleagues across the business unit receive consistent, professional support.

You will also contribute to IMS and audits where required, while helping maintain standards across a dispersed and collaborative team. The role includes supporting and developing colleagues, deputising for managers when needed, and helping to keep operations running smoothly across multiple locations.

Your Impact in this Position

In the short term, you will build trusted relationships across the business and become a reliable point of contact for technical teams and business support colleagues. Over time, you will help strengthen consistency, improve ways of working, and contribute to the development of others within the function.

Longer term, this role offers the opportunity to broaden your influence across a multi-location business, develop leadership capability, and gain experience in areas such as team coordination, financial support, compliance, and business improvement. You will be part of significant operational activity that supports delivery across the wider organisation.

Multi-Site Business Support Delivery

Deliver accurate, timely administrative support to technical teams across multiple UK offices, balancing competing priorities and maintaining service quality in a dispersed working environment.

Team Support, Coaching and Deputising

Support the Business Support team through coaching, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day guidance, while stepping in for managers when required and contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture.

Commercial and Financial Administration

Support recharge activity and other finance-related tasks with accuracy, confidentiality, and a strong understanding of business controls.

Systems, Processes and Compliance

Use Microsoft 365, Adobe, and other business systems confidently to manage data, track actions, complete timesheets, and follow internal quality, information management, and operational procedures.

Stakeholder Management

Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues at all levels, understand needs quickly, and respond proactively to deliver a dependable service that supports both individuals and wider business goals.

Qualifications and Training

Expected: Significant experience in business support or administration, ideally within a fast-paced professional services environment such as engineering or consultancy. Strong Microsoft Office skills, and experience supporting senior colleagues and handling confidential information.

Desirable: Previous line management experience, experience of coaching or mentoring colleagues, and exposure to finance processes, facilities coordination, or IMS/audit activity.

Work Patterns and Locations

This role is based in Brighton and supports teams across various locations. Hybrid working is available, with homeworking on agreed set days. Regular office attendance will be required, and flexibility will be needed to support business needs, collaboration, and occasional cross-site working. Flexible working arrangements may be considered where operationally appropriate. There may be occasional travel to other office locations.
