Leeds City College are recruiting for a Pastoral Coach to join us on a fixed term basis until July 2027.
As a Pastoral Coach, you will lead on attendance monitoring, support the curriculum, english and maths teams and students. You will be a trained Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) or will be prepared to work towards this. Duties will also include processing learner support claims, funding support and digital device support for our student groups
The School of Business, at Printworks Campus, continues to lead the way for Business, Accounting, Marketing and Management innovations in teaching and learning, and as such is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking Pastoral Coach to support our students through their educational journey.
Please note, this is a reduced year role, 36 weeks per year. This is based on the full academic year, however this may be less due to the fixed term period and based on the successful candidates start date. The pro rata’d salary for the full academic year is 25,965 to 25,736.
What You Will Do
- Contribute towards delivering outstanding teaching sessions in Inclusion, Participation and Development.
- Manage your caseload of students in coaching and support, strategically supporting the students in overcoming barriers which may impact on their progress at college.
- Monitor and track progress of our students attendance and target grades using face-to-face or online support techniques.
- Use specialist software to record learner journeys.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience of working in an educational environment.
- Skills in coaching and mentoring techniques.
- Enthusiasm for teaching, learning and educating and supporting young people, utilising new and emerging technologies in the curriculum which is key to this role.
