Description

Reporting directly to the MD and business owner, you will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day operational performance, inter-departmental cohesion, and aiding with overall business growth and strategy. You’ll lead a small team of 25 employees across all business functions through the SLT, to drive a culture accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Working closely with customers, suppliers and direct employees to deliver a good quality service, on time and within budget.
  • Monitoring KPIs and implementing performance improvement plans.
  • Managing production planning, resource allocation, and delivery schedules.
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders to develop and execute operational strategy.
  • Supporting employee development, succession planning, and team engagement.

Profile

The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to the wider business, and will communicate effectively with the SLT.

You will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong background within industrial, engineering, or technical environments.
  • Key communication skills at all levels of the business, and the ability to work with a variety of different characters.
  • Demonstrable experience driving productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational capabilities.
