Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEN

Location: Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales

Salary: £92.59 per day (minimum)

Job Description: A leading specialist provider in Aberdare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to work with children with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour. Key Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour
  • Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
  • Help staff prepare classrooms for lessons
  • Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Support the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher
  • Assist learners during break times and lunchtimes
  • Engage learners in classroom and out-of-classroom activities
  • Follow the school’s behaviour management policies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (support available)
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Right to work in the UK
