£35,000 – £40,000

We are working with our prestigious national client who are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Service Engineer to join their growing team covering the York area.

The Role

As a Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, remedial works, and reactive call-outs across a range of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.

Working as part of the dedicated service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring customers life safety systems remain fully operational, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently and effectively.
  • Complete repairs, upgrades, and remedial works where required.
  • Assess system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Complete all service documentation, job sheets, risk assessments, and reports accurately.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage company tools, equipment, and materials responsibly.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance requirements when required.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Experience with Installation and commissioning of fire alarm systems
  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Emergency Lighting Systems
  • Service, Maintenance and Fault Finding

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in any of the following would be highly advantageous:
  • CCTV Systems
