The Rewards
- Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 base per year (Positioned right at the top of the market, depending on experience—no bonus scheme required for high earnings).

Your Role
As a core Vehicle Technician / VAG Specialist in our Godalming workshop, you will:
- Carry out maintenance & repair work, including routine premium servicing, safety health checks, and high-level mechanical repairs.
- Execute diagnostics & fault finding, utilizing modern specialized VAG diagnostic equipment to systematically test, identify, and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues.
- Handle major component replacements, inspecting automotive components for wear and efficiently replacing parts (clutches, timing chains, suspension, engines) to strict specifications.
- Ensure top-tier quality assurance, checking vehicle subsystems and road-testing vehicles post-repair to guarantee “right first time” standards.
- Maintain team collaboration, ensuring excellent workshop housekeeping and supporting colleagues to maintain smooth workflow.
What You Need
- Qualifications: Fully qualified Vehicle Technician or Car Mechanic (NVQ Level 2, Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent time-served workshop experience). F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
- Experience: Proven track record as a confident technician, with hands-on technical familiarity across Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, or Skoda vehicles being highly desirable.
- Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential (maximum 6 points). An active MOT Tester licence is advantageous but not essential.
- Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools to manage daily repair and servicing tasks effectively.
