Grø Careers is partnering with a fast-growing, design-led London architecture studio looking for a technically strong Project Architect to take a key role across notable UK residential and mixed-use projects.
This is a progressive opportunity for someone who wants to step out of a larger practice structure and into a studio offering real responsibility, visible contribution, and an environment where capable people are trusted to move projects forward.
The Opportunity
You will be leading the delivery of a multi-million-pound, mixed-use London project in one of the most sought-after regions of the capital, from technical design onwards.
The studio is looking for someone with proven project delivery experience across multi-unit residential schemes, ideally within a design-led environment.
This is hands-on, but not a purely production-led role.
The studio needs someone who understands how residential projects are delivered, can work confidently in Revit, coordinate consultants, manage project information and help translate design intent into robust, compliant and buildable architecture.
You will be close to the directors, close to the project decisions, and close to the technical direction of live residential work.
Why This Is Different
This is a studio on an upward trajectory.
Young in feel, design-led in approach, but increasingly serious in project scale.
The team includes architects who have come from some of the most respected design practices in the industry, bringing a high level of ambition, technical awareness and design quality into a more agile, energetic studio environment.
You will not be joining a slow-moving hierarchy.
You will be joining a team where people are visible, trusted and expected to contribute properly.
For someone currently in a larger studio, this could offer the exposure that is often difficult to access: more ownership, broader responsibility, and a clearer connection between your input and the direction of the project.
The Work
The studio’s wider portfolio spans UK and international projects across residential, mixed-use, hospitality, retail, cultural, commercial and masterplanning sectors.
The immediate priority, however, is UK residential delivery.
You will be involved in technically focused residential work, including Revit-based information production, consultant coordination, technical packages, Building Regulations coordination, design-team communication and later-stage project delivery.
This is a strong fit for a Project Architect who wants to stay close to design, but who also enjoys the discipline of making architecture work technically.
The Ideal Candidate
You may currently be working in a larger residential, mixed-use or design-led practice, contributing to major UK housing schemes and looking for more ownership.
You might be an Architect with a few years’ post-qualification experience who is already operating above your level.
You might be a Project Architect looking for a more design-led, energetic and less corporate environment.
You might have delivered multi-unit residential schemes through technical design, tender or construction-stage coordination, and now want a role where your contribution is more visible.
The common thread is residential delivery experience, Revit confidence, technical judgement and the ability to coordinate people, information and decisions.
You’ll Need
- Proven UK residential project delivery experience;
- Multi-unit residential project experience;
- Strong Revit project experience;
- Experience from technical design onwards;
- Ability to coordinate consultants and project information;
- Understanding of Building Regulations, fire strategy coordination and residential compliance;
- Strong technical judgement;
- Experience producing and coordinating architectural information;
- Confidence working with project deadlines, deliverables and design-team communication;
- Calm, proactive and low-ego communication.
Particularly Useful
- High-rise residential / HRB project exposure;
- Gateway 2 or wider Building Safety Act knowledge;
- Stage 4 and Stage 5 residential delivery experience;
- Façade, envelope or complex package coordination;
- Experience on large-scale London residential projects;
- Affordable housing or mixed-tenure residential experience;
- Experience within a design-led residential studio.
Why Join?
Because this is not just a project move.
It is a responsibility move.
You will be joining a growing design-led studio at a point where your residential and technical experience can make a visible impact.
You will work with talented architects from leading practices, but in a younger, more energetic environment where the structure is lighter and the exposure is greater.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to important UK work, develop broader delivery ownership, and build deeper technical and project leadership experience than may be available in a larger studio.
For the right person, this is a chance to influence the future direction of a rising studio whilst rapidly advancing your career.
