The Role
We are looking for an organised and scientifically minded Associate Project Manager to support the coordination and delivery of R&D projects.
Working closely with scientific leads and internal and external partners, you will help maintain project plans, coordinate meetings, track actions, and ensure teams have clear visibility of timelines, risks, and deliverables.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with two to three years’ project coordination or project management experience who wants to develop their career within an early-stage biotechnology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of preclinical and R&D projects.
- Maintain project plans, timelines, action logs, risk registers, and project documentation.
- Organise project meetings, prepare agendas, record decisions, and follow up on actions.
- Monitor progress against agreed milestones and escalate potential delays or risks.
- Coordinate activities across scientific teams, external partners, consultants, and CROs.
- Support budget tracking, reporting, and project governance.
- Help introduce consistent project management processes and templates.
- Prepare clear project updates for scientific leads and senior management.
- Support the wider administration and day-to-day operation of the R&D portfolio.
Experience and Skills
- Two to three years’ experience in project coordination or project management, ideally within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or a scientific CRO.
- Degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Understanding of biologics, virology, drug discovery, or preclinical development would be particularly valuable.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident coordinating multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving early-stage environment.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools.
- PRINCE2, PMP, or a related project management qualification is desirable; candidates working towards a qualification will also be considered.
