Project Manager – Main Contractor (Channel Islands)
Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands
Salary: £80,000 – £95,000 + Comprehensive Package + Relocation Assistance
The Opportunity
An established construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing team in Guernsey. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of a £12 million high-quality construction project, taking full responsibility from site mobilisation through to successful completion.
This role is ideal for an ambitious Project Manager looking to take ownership of major projects while enjoying the benefits of living and working in the Channel Islands.
The Role
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for the successful planning, coordination and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of a £12m construction project.
- Manage site teams, direct labour and subcontractors.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Produce and monitor project programmes and short-term look-ahead plans.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate procurement and ensure timely delivery of materials and plant.
- Monitor project costs alongside the commercial team.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering construction projects.
- Background working for a Main Contractor or Developer.
- Strong experience managing direct labour and subcontractors.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong client relationships.
- Good commercial awareness and programme management skills.
- HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management or a related discipline (HNC considered).
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications are advantageous.
