Role Description

The Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Blackpool. The engineer is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and servicing of air conditioning and HVAC systems across various client sites, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include fault diagnosis, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, completing service reports, and adhering to all health, safety, and environmental standards. The role also involves liaising with clients and site teams, providing technical advice, and identifying opportunities for system improvements and energy efficiency. The engineer will work as part of a wider building services and facilities management team, occasionally supporting other maintenance activities when required.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in HVAC systems, including air conditioning maintenance, fault finding, and repair.
  • Experience in Building Maintenance and Building Services within commercial or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of Facility Management (FM) practices, including working to service level agreements and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in Maintenance & Repair activities, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Relevant technical qualifications in HVAC or building services (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, FGAS certification) and a valid driver’s license.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices, including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in energy-efficient operation of building systems and familiarity with digital maintenance tools or CAFM systems is beneficial.
