Firefighters make a vital contribution to the safety of our community. Becoming a Firefighter provides you with a worthwhile and fulfilling career, serving the people of Northern Ireland. Firefighting is a vocation; it is a challenging, varied and highly rewarding career. Firefighters do not just respond to emergencies, they are involved in community education, as well as fire and accident prevention activities, all designed to protect the community.
The role is physically and mentally challenging, requiring high levels of strength and endurance. To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you have the necessary skills, values, and behaviours to be a Firefighter. You must also meet the standard of physical fitness and strength required to fulfil the role and be 18 years of age or over by 01 April 2027.
The salary range is currently £31,539 – £40,358 per annum.
