About the role:
Through targeted planned and responsive reactive maintenance activities the Craft Fitter will ensure that equipment availability is optimized and that NIW is able to comply with its regulatory and statutory obligations.
The M&E Craft Maintenance Fitter will operate under the direct supervision of the Band 5 M&E Field Manager as part of a team to ensure that mechanical equipment throughout Customer & Operations Directorate (C&OD) is effectively maintained.
Responsibilities:
Apply Craft skills to deliver a full range of maintenance services in the field of mechanical engineering
Operation of such IT systems as Mobile Work Management and Lone worker/confined spaces systems.
Contribute through participation in focus groups and forums to guide existing and new policy development and implementation.
Effectively contribute to providing a 24/7 service to include participation in the M&E standby rota which provides an out of hours emergency response;
Contribute towards the further development of skills and working practices to enable an optimised M&E maintenance regime.
A requirement to participate in an out of hours on-call and overtime rota as well as a requirement to work overtime; including weekends and public and privilege holiday.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1. Have a relevant Mechanical National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 3 AND have completed a mechanical apprenticeship WITH a minimum of three years relevant post apprenticeship trade experience working as a mechanical fitter.
2. Hold a full, current driving licence or have access to a form of transport to enable you to fulfil your responsibilities.
