Role Summary
We are looking for a Bar and Events Assistant to join the team at The Pavilion. In this role, you will support the delivery of a wide range of events and bar services, helping to create a welcoming, professional, and enjoyable experience for students, staff, and external customers.
You will play a key part in ensuring all spaces are prepared and maintained to a high standard, while delivering excellent customer service at all times. The role involves working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, supporting bar operations, event set‑ups, and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.
This is a varied, hands‑on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in delivering great service.
PLEASE NOTE: This role requires full flexibility across weekdays, weekends, evenings and late nights.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service to students, staff, and external customers
- Prepare and serve drinks in line with licensing regulations
- Operate the till, take orders, and process payments accurately
- Restock the bar and maintain stock levels during service
- Collect glassware and carry out cleaning duties throughout shifts
- Assist with event set-up, room layouts, and breakdowns
- Support the delivery of internal and external sports and events
- Work effectively as part of a team in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety at all times
- Carry out manual handling tasks as required
- Undertake any duties delegated by the Bar Supervisor
- The post holder must be 18 years of age or over
- Experience of bar work and events
- The post holder must be flexible to work Monday to Sunday, including daytime, evening and late-night shifts.
