Job Description:

Petroineos Manufacturing Scotland Ltd operates Scotland’s most advanced fuel import and distribution terminal, located on the Firth of Forth at Grangemouth on the country’s east coast. The site is a key part of the nation’s critical energy infrastructure, supporting reliable fuel supply and distribution. With over 500 vehicle movements each day, Petroineos plays a central role in powering economic activity across Scotland.

Job Purpose

The role is responsible for ensuring effective daily/weekly coordination between London (JV1) and Grangemouth Terminal (JV2)

Accountable for ‘optimising’ the Terminal daily plan to reflect daily restrictions and changes – across the Jetties, Tank Farm and Road Station

Dimensions

  • Optimise the import / export of 2.5 – 3.0 million tonnes of finished product through the Grangemouth Terminal.
  • Minimise the risk of an unplanned ‘stock out’ of fuel to customers through trouble shooting any fuel quality issues

Principal Accountabilities

  • Deliver the Daily Stock Progression Report
  • Delivery of weekly Terminal import/export plan, with accountability for daily re-optimisation when there are deviations from the weekly plan.
  • Network with the Terminal Maintenance and Operations teams, and the JV1 London & Wholesale teams to schedule any unplanned outages.
  • Co-ordinate tankage and Jetty scheduling with the JV1 team, and where appropriate the INEOS shipping team.
  • Work with the JV1 team to support seasonal spec. changes and/or any fuel quality issues.
  • Management of additive stocks and purchases.
  • Complete Local Vessel Clearances
  • Preparation of daily night notes and handover to shift supervisors

Special Features

The Terminal Scheduler plays a vital role in the coordinated operation within the Terminal across the various JV1 teams and local on-site teams– the post holder needs:

  • Good knowledge of scheduling – across Shipping, Hydrocarbon Product and Maintenance
  • Good knowledge of fuel quality.
  • Good understanding of the commercial drivers and sources of value for the Terminal.
  • Familiar with the business processes

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

Required

  • Requires ability to development solutions to complex issues which have multi-faceted implications for the site.
  • Requires to have sound commercial awareness.
  • Requires to have sound understanding of fuel quality regulations.
  • Scheduling Experience (Ideally within a Terminal environment)
  • Experience of marine operations
  • Relevant degree or HNC/HND would be beneficial
