An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual with excellent customer care skills to join the Welfare Liaison Team, providing a professional face to face welfare benefit and money advice service to Cardiff Council Contract Holders.
The temporary position is based in Central Library, with the role demanding lone working in Hubs on a regular basis, as well as other community settings. There will be joint working with the wider Money Advice Team, as required by service demand.
About the job
The temporary role includes income maximisation, budgeting advice, benefit advice and helping Contract Holdersset up affordable agreements to pay rent, Council tax and utilities.
You will have knowledge of Welfare Benefits and the options available to help those affected.
You will have experience of working with customers on a face to face and a commitment to providing a high‑quality customer service. You will have good communication and IT skills and the ability to resolve disputes in a positive and constructive manner.
You will work well in a team, have excellent time management and a flexible approach.
Occasional evening and weekend working will be required.
What We Are Looking For From You
Experience of working in a benefit or money advice environment would be a considerable advantage but is not essential as training is provided.
The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, Somali, Arabic or Polish would be an advantage.
