Main Duties/Responsibilities
Proactively manage and lead an area of stores andsupport the Head of Retail with implementing and successfully delivering a retailstrategy.
The role means you are accountable for a minimum of 25 Saltrock stores, supporting with visual merchandising and executing all communicationsent by the Retail, DC and Head office team. Managing, supporting, and developingstore teams to execute the expected store standards, guidance, and training whenit comes to commercial thinking and encouraging store teams to take accountabilityof their responsibilities whilst nurturing our people to ensure they go theextra mile within their store and role.
Continuously focused on creating succession plansfor individual Managers and stores alike whilst delivering on all short-,medium- and long-term business objectives.
Relationships
- Proactively build and maintain a professionalcommercial relationship throughout the business, whilst ensuring the company’srequirements are met.
- Proactively build and maintain a professionalcommercial relationship with Head Office, DC and retail team to ensure thebest commercial decisions for the store are made.
- Building a rapport with Managers and widerstore teams to effectively manage your area.
Customer
- Ensure all teams are focused on delivering exceptional customers serviceby approaching, engaging and proactively selling to them. Always providingthe highest standard of customer service and leading by example.
- Ensuring customers have a positive experience within the assignedstore through the actions taken by all team members and managing stores/teamswhere necessary.
- Ensure full adherence to all company policies and proceduresincluding where relevant, centre procedures, with particular emphasis onhealth and safety of staff and customers.
- Maintain high security awareness by ensuring that all companysecurity procedures are complied with.
- Accuratelycomplete/understand profit & loss, forecast and commercial documents –monitor sales and take action where required.
- Usecommercial reporting information to influence decisions and maximisecommercial opportunities.
- Activelyensure stores implement any markdown and price alterations within agreedtimescales.
- Ensureindividual stores are appropriately covered with staffing, ensuring peaktrade periods are maximised and payroll spend and savings are tightly monitored,including fair deployment of Manager and Supervisor hours.
- Being awareof key trading periods and ensuring hours are deployed for those periods.
- Awareof and monitoring of stores stock integrity and addressing any concernswith shrinkage in order to protect the business.
Stock Maintenance & Visual Standards
- Ensure allstores in your area have optimal stock at any point in the year to ensuremaximum store performance, particular focus on peak trading periods bystore.
- Lead andensure all stores maintain a model store standard of housekeeping throughoutevery store to ensure it is attractive to customers and provides a healthyand safe environment.
- Monitorand maintain all aspects of stock management including stock losses,markdowns and stock levels by store.
- Check thatstores merchandise product commercially ensuring visual merchandisingprinciples and guidelines are adhered to ensure maximum sales return.
- Expectationsset and monitored regarding processes such as; deliveries, high standardsof housekeeping including maintenance of stockroom standards.
People
- Completeand review annual appraisals whilst building a future succession plan
- Recruitand train new Managers which meet Saltrock standards ensuring that allprobationary requirements and individual reviews are carried out withinthe correct time scales.
- Carryout induction of new staff ensuring that required competencies aredemonstrated and all documentation is correctly completed then forwardedto Head Office and Line Manager as required.
- Ensureteam are fully trained and able to run the store in Managers absence.
- Monitorand evaluate the development needs of staff ensuring appropriate coachingand training is provided to ensure needs are met.
- Monitorperformances of staff identifying any disciplinary issues or trainingneeds and ensuring appropriate action as required.
- Motivateteam members to deliver exceptional service to all our customers both internaland external as an ambassador for Saltrock.
- Ensureall team members deliver agreed service levels to customers. Maximisingevery sales opportunity.
- Proactivelyseek feedback from competitors on performance to ensure we are aware ofany factors that could affect trade.
Communication
- Complete all administration tasks requiredcorrectly and on time.
- Implement and maintain communication systemsto staff, line manager and all other contacts as required.
- Ensure consistent communication and visits withstores on a regular basis.
- Ensure all communication tools provided by thebusiness are utilised to benefit the stores.
- Ensure all communication with Head office, DC,retail team is polite, clear, concise and fit for purpose.
- Ensures feedback on commercial performance iseffectively communicated to all relevant parties.
- Ensurethat all company and where applicable centre procedures are strictlyadhered to.

- A proven record of driving anddelivering exceptional results
- Experience of multi-site management
- Exceptional communication & interpersonalskills
- A strong coaching style of managementin order to motivate and drive others at all levels
- A keen eye for commercial VisualMerchandising & Brand presentation.
- Must hold a valid UK driving license
