Electrical Assembly Technician (Cabling / Control Boards)

Location: Basildon, Essex (on-site)

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000

Hours: 39 hours per week, flexible start between 7:00am – 9:00am (early finish on Fridays)

The Role

This is an opportunity for a skilled Electrical Assembly Technician to join a growing production team. The role focuses on building and wiring complex control boards and assemblies using detailed technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble control boards and enclosures using a variety of components
  • Carry out point-to-point wiring, including preparation, routing, and termination of cables
  • Ensure high standards of cable management and overall presentation
  • Work from technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and parts lists
  • Inspect and test assemblies to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Use a range of hand and power tools safely

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, or similar manufacturing roles
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Experience working with electrical components and control systems
  • Good manual dexterity

Desirable

  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship
  • Experience working on systems used in building services, utilities, or industrial equipment
