Lead a Landmark Nature Recovery Partnership
This is a unique opportunity to lead one of the UK’s largest and most ambitious landscape-scale nature recovery partnerships, spanning more than 200,000 hectares of the Scottish Highlands. Established through a pioneering collaboration between multiple landowners and conservation partners, the organisation is entering an exciting new phase of development.
Following five years of growth, the Board is seeking a Chief Executive who can review organisational priorities, develop delivery plans and ensure the right people, structures and systems are in place to maximise long‑term impact.
The Board is open to appointing either an experienced Interim Chief Executive for an initial six-month transformation programme or a permanent Chief Executive who can lead both the immediate organisational transition and the longer-term strategic development of the organisation.
During the first six months, the priority will be organisational development and implementation rather than strategic planning. We are seeking a leader who can quickly assess the organisation, identify opportunities to strengthen delivery and implement the changes required to build a resilient, high‑performing organisation.
Key priorities of the role
Provide confident organisational leadership, bringing a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to organisational development and operational improvement.
Lead a programme of organisational change, identifying gaps, reshaping structures and processes, and ensuring the organisation is well positioned for its next phase of growth.
Develop an organisational structure aligned to impact, accountability and effective delivery.
Support and stabilise the team following a period of organisational change, demonstrating empathy and strong people leadership through a fair, transparent and compassionate approach.
Build the capability and capacity required for long-term success, ensuring the right people, skills and systems are in place.
For an Interim Chief Executive, proven experience of organisational transformation, change management and team leadership will be essential.
For a permanent Chief Executive, candidates should demonstrate the ability to think strategically, connecting immediate priorities with a compelling long-term vision. You will be capable of translating strategic ambition into practical delivery plans while leading the organisation through its next stage of development.
Experience and expertise sought
We are looking for an experienced organisational leader who can bring clarity, stability and strong operational leadership, ideally gained within a complex, partnership-based or commercially focused environment.
You will be:
A hands‑on organisational transformation leader who can rapidly assess what is working, identify challenges, develop practical solutions and implement meaningful change.
A strategic thinker who can translate long-term vision into clear priorities, ensuring operational delivery supports wider organisational ambitions.
An experienced leader in organisational design, able to review structures, roles and ways of working, align resources effectively and create the conditions for accountability, collaboration and impact.
An empathetic and supportive people leader who builds trust, understands team dynamics and leads organisational change with care, openness and transparency. You will bring people with you, provide clarity during periods of uncertainty and build a positive, high‑performing organisational culture.
