The Opportunity
We are looking for enthusiastic, talented, and proactive individuals to join our Programme Integration team within Programme Advisory. Our growing Consents Team needs people with hands-on experience working in a major project environment. We welcome candidates who can contribute as change agents, consents specialists, environmental stewards or project managers to deliver tangible results for our clients. Programme Integration provides a range of services across the development lifecycle, including programme and portfolio setup and delivery, transition management, governance and assurance solutions, and consents, stakeholder and sponsorship management.
As part of the Programme Integration team your key responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of an integrated project team to deliver client deliverables relating to Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects and programmes, navigating the Development Consent Order, Transport and Works Act and Town & Country Planning processes across pre/post-consents stages of the project lifecycle
- Assuming client or service roles involving consents leadership and management (pre & post consent), consent production and delivery, environmental impact assessments, consultation/stakeholder engagement and procedural strategic advisory/assurance
- Managing client relationships
- Identifying and realising business development opportunities
- Leading or contributing to bid proposals or managing key bids
- Leading internal initiatives within the Programme Advisory team, such as development of programme integration products and methodologies
- Mentoring and/or managing members of the Programme Advisory team
- Line managing junior staff (where applicable)
- Having excellent knowledge and practical experience of the lifecycle of a consents process from pre to post consent
- Demonstrating technical understanding of consents strategy via different consenting routes (e.g., DCO, TWAO, Hybrid Bill)
- Discharging primary and secondary consents and post-consent deliverables
- Experience of pre-application and/or post-consent liaison with internal and external stakeholders within large and complex organisations
- Coordinating approvals and notifications between all interested parties and managing consent management plans/strategies
- Technical experience in consents leadership and management, consent production and delivery, environment impact assessments, stakeholder engagement and procedural strategic advisory
- Experience in consulting environments or demonstrated consulting skillset
- A proven track record of delivering tangible results across a range of projects with a nimble, can-do attitude
- Experience of programme and/or project management within a complex environment with multiple workstreams (DCO, TWAO and/or TCPA consenting environments)
- Experience producing high-quality deliverables within challenging timescales
- Experience developing productive working relationships and identifying new business opportunities
- Experience in sectors such as infrastructure, transportation, utilities, defence, energy and natural resources (including Nuclear), and real estate
