We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to help in Carron and Stenhouse Medical Practices.Stenhouse is a Practice based in Stenhousemuir Larbert – 3400 patients ,with excellent transport links from both Glasgow and Edinburgh.Carron Medical Practice is GP practice with around 4600 patients located in Falkirk within commuting distance of the practices are very closeby. You would be supported by a friendly, dedicated and well organized team which currently consists of salaried GPs,long-term locum GPs, a longstanding supportive admin and reception staff, Office Managers in each site, Practice Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Mental Health Nurses, Physiotherapists and Pharmacists. Also attached to the Practices are a wealth of health professionals including District Nurses, Health Visitors and a Midwife.

We are very forward thinking practices with a track record of investing in technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the services we deliver to patients and embrace changes to try to improve our working day and have regular practice meetings where all staff are encouraged to share their views on the smooth running of the practice.
We use EMIS and DOCMAN IT systems.
- supporting GP’s and nurses with a range of clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, taking blood pressure readings and carrying out NHS Health Checks.
- maintaining accurate and up to date patient records.
- preparing clinical rooms and equipment.
- promoting health and wellbeing.
- supporting infection prevention and control measures.
- ensuring patients receive safe, compassionate and professional care while contributing to efficient day to day running of the practice.
- taking and recording patients’ vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height and weight).
- collecting blood samples (phlebotomy) and preparing specimens for laboratory testing.
- carrying out routine health checks and urine testing.
- helping with cardiovascular disease prevention, hypertension, diabetes and assisting the Practice Nurse with chronic disease management.
- minimum of 20 hrs per week / hours and days to be discussed and salary dependent upon experience.
