Role: Electrical Installation Technician

Salary: Up to £36,500 per annum, with long-term earning potential up to £45,000 plus overtime, on-call payments and bonuses

Location:Derbyshire

Type: Full-time, permanent – static site-based role

Overview:An excellent opportunity for an Electrician, Electrical Trainee or qualified Electrical Apprentice who wants to develop into an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer.

You will be permanently based at a large, established manufacturing site, working across production machinery, electrical infrastructure and commercial facilities. The position offers structured training, professional development and strong long-term earning potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, modify and commission electrical systems across the manufacturing site
  • Work with control panels, distribution boards and single-phase and three-phase circuitry
  • Complete rewires, containment, cabling, lighting and power installations
  • Support new machinery installations, relocations and commissioning projects
  • Maintain electrical supplies serving production equipment, chillers and site services
  • Complete electrical inspection, testing and fault-finding
  • Assist with planned maintenance and electrical breakdowns
  • Maintain electrical drawings, testing records and installation documentation
  • Ensure all work complies with BS 7671 and site safety procedures
  • Support site improvement and energy-efficiency projects

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence and must be able to drive
  • Electrical qualification, completed apprenticeship or relevant practical experience
  • Electrical installation experience within an industrial, manufacturing or commercial environment
  • Understanding of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
  • Keen to develop installation, testing, commissioning and fault-finding skills
  • Reliable, safety-conscious and willing to learn
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations advantageous
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing advantageous
