Qualified Social Worker needed for a Children with Disabilites team in Peterborough – £39ph!
- Location: Peterborough
- Working Pattern: Hybrid- 2days office based
- Rate: £39per hour
About the Role:
Peterborough’s 0–18 Children with Disabilities Team supports disabled children and their families from referral through to adulthood. The team undertakes statutory assessments, safeguarding, child protection and court work, while working closely with health, education and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children with disabilities, completing statutory assessments, reviews and care planning.
- Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children and court work where required.
- Build positive relationships with children and families using a person-centred, strengths-based approach.
- Ensure children’s wishes and feelings are central to assessment, planning and decision-making.
- Complete high-quality assessments, reports and care plans in line with statutory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with education, health and partner agencies to coordinate effective multi-agency support.
- Manage safeguarding concerns, assess risk and take appropriate action to protect vulnerable children.
- Support children with lifelong disabilities and their families to access appropriate services and community resources.
- Maintain accurate case recordings and participate in reflective supervision and professional development.
- Contribute to permanence planning and transition planning where appropriate.
