Location: Southampton Salary: 34,000 – 36,000 Hours: Monday to Friday
The Role We are seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Plant & Transport Manager to support the day-to-day running of a busy construction fleet. This role will suit someone with experience in plant hire, transport, or fleet administration who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
You will support the management of a fleet of 300 vehicles, plant, and various tools, as well as coordinating hired-in equipment when required.
Assistant Plant & Transport ManagerKey Responsibilities:
- Support daily plant and transport operations.
- Manage fleet and plant records
- Coordinate hired-in vehicles, plant, and equipment.
- Liaise with suppliers, drivers, engineers, and site teams.
- Complete general administration and reporting.
- Maintain spreadsheets using Excel and manage communications via Outlook.
- Assist with compliance, servicing schedules, and inspections.
Requirements needed from theAssistant Plant & Transport Manager:
- Experience within plant, construction, transport, or fleet management.
- Good understanding of plant and vehicle hire.
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
- Confident using Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work under pressure and think on your feet.
