We are working with a well-established SEND school in New Malden that is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and nurturing team. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Complex needs and additional learning challenges
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning programmes
- Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Encouraging independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom
- Helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families
- Supporting pupils with personal care where required
