Personal Assistant / Support Worker

Fun & Rewarding Role Supporting a 9-Year-Old Boy

Location: Morpeth, Northumberland Hours: 17 per week Pay: £14.67 per hour We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to support our 9-year-old son.

He is a happy, gentle and sociable boy who enjoys one-to-one attention and being around people.

He loves music, reading, sensory activities, being outdoors and especially time in the water.

He has PMLD and autism, is non-verbal and uses a wheelchair.

He also has additional medical needs including PEG feeding, inhalers, nebulisers and epilepsy (well controlled). Full training will be provided.

The role involves supporting him at home and helping him access the community.

This includes assisting with his morning and after-school routines, engaging him in play and activities, and supporting his personal care and evening routine.

Once established, you will also support him on outings using a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, from swimming and park trips to enjoying local days out.

We are looking for someone who will take a positive, kind approach and become part of a supportive family environment.

Essential requirements: Kind, patient and genuinely caring Reliable, trustworthy and organised Enjoys working with children and joining in with play and activities Willing to learn and undertake training (including medical needs) Full UK driving licence Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) Previous experience with complex needs or autism is helpful but not essential.

Hours: Three weekday split shifts: 6:00–8:00am and 4:00–7:00pm One weekend day per month (8 hours) (Flexibility available, agreed in advance) This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to a child’s life.
