Due to continued growth, Irish Salt Mining requires a full-time Heavy Diesel Mechanic at the Kilroot Salt Mine in Carrickfergus. Reporting to the Mechanical Foreman you will be part of an experienced maintenance team in the underground workshop.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, mechanical repairs and basic diagnostics on a range of heavy plant & machinery
• Work with colleagues and other departments effectively
• Record work accurately
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, and ability to comply with safety regulations, instructions and safe systems of work

Essential Criteria:

• Mechanical experience on plant and machinery
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems

Desirable Criteria:

• NVQ Level 3 Diesel Mechanic or equivalent.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems

Hours of Work:

• 41 hours per week Monday to Friday Dayshift starting 0600hrs.
