Job description
The Governors of Rudyard Kipling Primary School and Nursery wish to appoint a charismatic, highly motivated and nurturing Learning Support Assistant on a fixed term basis for 1 year in the first instance. This post will be to support children within our school who require individualised, creative and purposeful provision. There is a full time or part time position available.
We are looking for a special person:
- To support the learning of children working on individualised learning plans
- To plan fun, creative, and engaging activities
- To be reflective and flexible
- To work within a team in partnership with the SENCo, class teachers and other colleagues to support the children in reaching their best outcomes
- To dynamically risk assess and manage children’s safety
- To believe in outdoor education and embrace our wonderful grounds and resources
- To follow our Empowerment Approach and School Values to enhance the children’s learning
- To have an understanding of strategies which support SEND learners, such as Just Right, Makaton, visuals, structure and routine
- To have experience of supporting children with complex needs who can demonstrate challenging behaviour
- To establish positive relationships with parents, and families
