1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Sheffield

Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis within welcoming mainstream primary schools throughout Sheffield.
This 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity involves supporting individual pupils with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties, helping them to access learning successfully within mainstream classrooms.
Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £92.56 – £100 per day (paid via PAYE, no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you
About the Role
Working as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Sheffield, you will provide dedicated support to individual pupils, helping them engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve their EHCP targets.
The 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role in Sheffield is ideal for candidates who are patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education within mainstream primary schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 classroom support
- Implement EHCP targets and support plans
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Support communication and social development
- Work closely with teachers and SENCOs
- Follow safeguarding procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or other SEN
- Knowledge of mainstream SEN support
- Patient and nurturing approach
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
