The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Abergele area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts

Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available or ad-hoc).

Hours

Start times any time between 12:00pm to 21:00pm (Flexibility for shift times required).

Pay Rate

  • Midweek – £18.15 per hour rising to £19.15 after 12 weeks.
  • Midweek overtime (after 8 hours) – £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks.
  • Saturday – £23.52 per hour rising to £24.52 after 12 weeks.
  • Saturday overtime (after 8 hours) – £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks.
  • Sunday – £26.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks.
  • Bank Holidays – £34.42 per hour rising to £35.42 after 12 weeks.

The role

  • Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
  • Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
  • Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
  • Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
  • Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
  • Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
  • Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
  • Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
  • Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm – 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
  • Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
