SEMH Support Assistant
Location: Aylesbury Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full Time, Temporary to Permanent Salary: £90–£115 per day

Role Overview
As a SEMH Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health needs, delivering structured and targeted support to help them thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored SEMH support to individual pupils
- Work one-to-one with pupils to support emotional regulation
- Implement effective support strategies and interventions
- Build trusting and supportive relationships with pupils
- Collaborate with teaching staff to support behaviour management plans
Classroom Environment
- Maintain a calm and consistent atmosphere
- Focus on relationship-building
- Provide structured and clear support
- Set and uphold clear expectations
Skills and Experience
- Experience working with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Resilience, patience, and empathy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust and rapport with young people

- Pupils demonstrate improved emotional regulation
- Positive changes in behaviour
- Increased pupil engagement in learning
- Enhanced confidence and self-esteem
Previous experience in SEMH or similar roles is highly desirable.
