Job Overview
Flame Health Optometry have been instructed to recruit a qualified, GOC-registered Optometrist for a permanent, onsite position in Witney, offering a salary of £45,000 to £50,000 per annum. This role will suit a clinician who values thorough patient care, strong relationships and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a community branch.
About the Job
In this branch-based role, you will carry out comprehensive eye examinations within 30‑minute test slots, using your clinical judgement to diagnose and manage a range of eye health conditions. You will also provide tailored advice on spectacle and contact lens options, ensuring each customer receives care that reflects their individual needs.
Working closely with branch colleagues, you will help support service delivery and business growth while maintaining a positive experience at every visit. Where applicable, you may also take part in local enhanced service schemes and contribute to pre‑registration supervision.
Ongoing CPD will support you in staying up to date with optical products and wider industry developments, and you will work with fully computerised systems to help streamline your day.
About the Employer
Our client operates within optometry and hearing care and is committed to putting the customer at the centre of everything it does. The business has a family‑run culture that values people, professionalism and supportive working relationships, with a strong emphasis on clinical standards and service.
The wider offer includes access to cutting‑edge optical products, regular product range updates, comprehensive CPD training and an extensive e‑learning platform. Professional fees are covered, and there are also staff and family discounts on products, alongside generous holiday entitlement.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a qualified, GOC‑registered Optometrist with confidence in clinical practice and a genuine commitment to patient care.
Experience may be newly qualified or more established, as long as you are comfortable carrying out detailed eye examinations, using sound judgement and working collaboratively within a friendly branch team.
You should be keen to build lasting relationships with customers and colleagues, and motivated by professional development. A willingness to engage in ongoing CPD, local enhanced schemes and pre‑registration supervision where applicable will be important, as will a practical, hands‑on approach to day‑to‑day clinical work.
Who This Role Suits
This role will appeal to an Optometrist who wants to practise in a supportive community setting and take real ownership of their clinical work. It is well suited to someone who values quality, consistency and the chance to develop within a business that invests in its people.
Job Location
The role is based onsite in Witney. It offers a local branch setting within the town and its surrounding community.
