Primary Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Bury

Milk Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive Primary School in Bury. This opportunity is available for an immediate start or from September and is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children throughout their primary education.

Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with transferable experience working with children, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while making a positive impact on pupils’ learning and development.

Working alongside class teachers, you’ll help create a positive and engaging learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.

Your Role

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and boost progress
  • Encourage pupil participation, confidence and independence within the classroom
  • Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities
  • Provide additional support for pupils who require extra guidance with their learning
  • Help promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s policies
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and support pupil wellbeing

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, tutoring, coaching or similar setting (desirable)
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
  • Is positive, reliable and enthusiastic
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can work effectively as part of a team
  • Is proactive, flexible and willing to learn
  • Has an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, or is willing to undertake training
  • Holds a relevant qualification or degree (desirable but not essential)

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
