Role Overview

We are recruiting Social Workers for the Duty & Assessment team, who will deliver purposeful social work and support children and families across Barnet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct safeguarding assessments and develop appropriate care plans for young people.
  • Manage a manageable caseload within small, collaborative teams.
  • Engage with families, professionals and other agencies to deliver high‑quality services.
  • Provide individual and group supervision, coaching and mentoring to support colleagues.
  • Participate in ongoing training and contribute to the Learning in Context development programme.
  • Demonstrate impact on families by achieving positive outcomes for children.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised social work qualification (mandatory).
  • In‑depth knowledge of the legislative framework and policies relating to safeguarding children.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in writing assessments and plans.
  • Proven experience in achieving positive outcomes for children and influencing professional networks.
  • Innovative and positive engagement with children and families.
