Water Treatment Operations Manager

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester

Salary: £38,000 – £50,000 + Training & Benefits. Benefits include company vehicle, fuel card, overtime, pension scheme and annual leave.

A privately‑owned Water Treatment / Water Hygiene specialist is seeking a switched‑on and professional Operations Manager to oversee delivery of services to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring quality, deadlines and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong leadership, adherence to company procedures and maintaining a strong reputation for service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee successful completion of Water Treatment, Water Hygiene, Legionella and Plumbing services.
  • Lead teams to plan projects and allocate workloads to engineers.
  • Act as key point of contact for clients and colleagues.
  • Troubleshoot site issues and ensure smooth outcomes.
  • Conduct quality assurance and competency checks for compliance.
  • Train and support engineers daily.
  • Handle client complaints.
  • Identify market gaps, upsell and follow up on warm leads to support company growth.
  • Ensure projects run within budget and on schedule.
  • Attend sites to conduct initial risk assessments before works start.
  • Liaise with sub‑contractors and suppliers.
  • Investigate and resolve accidents/incidents.
  • Complete relevant project documentation.

Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience as a Water Treatment Operations Manager.
  • Industry‑related qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds WMSoc in Legionella Risk Assessing, NVQ Plumbing, G3 Unvented).
  • Full knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG 274 guidelines.
  • Strong leadership skills with confidence in leading teams on site and in office.
  • Willingness to travel in line with company needs.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Proficient in using IT software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
