Job Description
The role is to carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites safely, professionally and cost‑effectively, maintaining documentation of all works in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance and repair work on customer sites according to a planned schedule.
- Inspect and ensure the safety of repaired and maintained trucks.
- Complete job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions and parts paperwork within required timescales.
- Responsible for equipment and tooling (van, laptop, tablet, etc.) ensuring they are in safe condition for the work being undertaken.
- Ensure van stock is monitored and counted, and sufficient for day‑to‑day maintenance of the fleet.
- Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines.
Required technical knowledge:
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Hydraulics
Other attributes:
Ability to work independently and in a team, good communication skills, high standard of work, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Person Specification
Essential Skills
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proficient in fault finding and repair.
- Education that allows achieving at least a grade C in English and maths at GCSE.
- Experience of Health & Safety requirements in a workshop setting.
- Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
- Excellent organisational skills, resourceful and solution‑driven.
- High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.

Vacancy Details
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 08:00 – 16:30 with 30‑minute lunch.
Company Vehicle: A company van with a fuel card is provided (private use possible with tax paid). Current vehicle: Ford Transit Custom.
Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
