Job Role of the Senior Engineer
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join a leading bakery ingredients manufacturer operating within a major international food group. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced multi‑skilled engineer who is looking to step into a leadership role while still remaining hands‑on within a fast‑paced production environment.
You will be reporting to the Operations Manager and will have responsibility for leading a small engineering team consisting of one engineer and one fabricator. The role is approximately 60% supervisory/leadership and 40% hands‑on engineering, although this may vary depending on business needs.
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running and reliability of 9 production lines, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance activities across a busy, automated manufacturing facility.
Key Machinery Includes
- Industrial mixers and blending systems
- Heat sealers and packaging equipment
- Carton packing and case handling systems
- Check weighers and metal detectors
- Conveyors and transfer systems
- Storage silos and ingredient handling systems

- Proven experience in a senior, lead or team leader engineering role
