Role Overview

• Deliver & Engage: Adapt and deliver high-quality, highly engaging lessons tailored to students with diverse learning needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD.
• Flexibility: Seamlessly step into different specialized provisions and mainstream SEND departments across The Wirral for daily, short-term, or planned long-term cover.
• Progress: Scaffold learning effectively, ensuring every student can access the curriculum and progress at their own pace.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment using positive behavior strategies and de‑escalation techniques.

Requirements

• Qualifications: UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/ECT) or equivalent, with a proven track record or specialist qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN/SEND).
• Experience: Previous experience working as a Secondary SEND Teacher or supporting students with complex learning needs in an educational setting.
• Skills: Outstanding differentiation skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to build quick rapport with vulnerable young people.
• Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
• Location: Based in or easily able to commute to schools throughout The Wirral.
