Outreach Tutor

Overview

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an Outreach Tutor to support students across the St Helens area.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality 1:1 tuition to students in a one-to-one setting, delivering engaging and personalised lessons tailored to each learner’s needs and ability.
• Support students who have missed education or face barriers to learning, demonstrating patience and adaptability.

Position Details

• Location: St Helens
• Position: Outreach Tutor
• Hours: 5-15 hours per week (flexible)
• Start Date: September 2026
• Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable)
• Experience working with students requiring additional support, including those disengaged from education or with SEND (advantageous)
• UK teaching or tutoring experience
• A creative, patient, and flexible approach to teaching

Eligibility

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references related to working with children or young people
